Voluminous designs and oversized bows star at Nina Ricci's show at Paris Fashion Week
MADRID, Oct. 2 (CHANCE) -
Nina Ricci's new Spring-Summer 2024 women's collection has managed to turn the everyday looks of her clients into elegant figures. In this way, and based on the spectacular evening gowns of last season, this second installment lays the foundations for a complete wardrobe, performed by Harris Reed with his typical exuberance and joy.
The collection celebrates the joyful pastime of dressing up, drawn from childhood memories of trying on her mother's clothes and digging through Nina Ricci's rich archives. It's about building moments without needing to celebrate a special occasion.
Following the brand's codes, the sumptuousness of evening suits continue to be the basis of its designs, finished off by elegantly tailored ensembles: oversized blazers, elegant velvet tuxedos, short trench coats and everyday garments, such as denim, bandeau tops, skater skirts and sweet baby doll dresses.
Overall, the silhouette is an ode to femininity in all its forms and expressions, embodied by a diverse cast of people. High-waisted pants, mini shorts, skirts and glamorous dresses from the 70s accentuate the waist and sweetheart necklines highlight the cleavage. Even the suits flirt with sensuality, with unbuttoned blazers and fitted vests with revealing low-cut backs. Hems rise or skim the ground, while platform shoes add height and security.
Couture fabrics, such as Nina Ricci's iconic duchess satin, tweed and lace, are updated with modern cuts and treatments. Leather garments, enhanced with metallic coatings or animal prints, mix with a saccharine palette of icy pinks and blues and the timelessness of black and white. The fun is in the details: exaggerated oversized bows. Long evening gloves are worn from dawn to dusk.
CHARLOTTE TILBURY'S GORGEOUS MAKEUP
The makeup for the Spring-Summer 2024 presentation has been created in collaboration with the luxury British makeup and skincare brand Charlotte Tilbury. Creating a signature look for the models, Charlotte and her team of international makeup artists bring their signature glamor to the fluid romanticism of the collection.
