This morning the Film Academy announced the nominees for the 38th edition of the Goya Awards, which will be held on February 10 in Valladolid and whose gala will be hosted by Ana Belén and 'Los Javis', Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo.
The artists Anna Castillo and Luis Tosar have been in charge of revealing the candidates to win the coveted 'Cabezón' in the 28 categories in an event held at the Academy headquarters in which there have been few surprises and in which heard very popular names for the general public, such as José Coronado, Juan Antonio Bayona, Isabel Coixet, Malena Alterio, Ana Torrent or Hugo Silva.
With 15 nominations, '20,000 species of bees' by Estibaliz Urresola is the most nominated film, followed by 'The Snow Society', by J.A. Bayona, with 13 options for the award. For their part, 'Cerrar los ojos' by Víctor Erice and 'They know that' by David Trueba have 11 nominations each and 'Un amor', by Isabel Coixet, 7, while 'I'm loving you madly' and 'The teacher who promised the sea' have 5 nominations.
The favorites have also won the categories for best direction and film. For the 'big head' for best film, '20,000 species of bees', 'Close your eyes', 'The Snow Society', 'They know that' and 'Un amor' will compete.

Of the 201 stories nominated for the 2023 Goya Awards, 69 have been debut works compared to 50 the previous year. As for the scripts, 157 have been original and 39 adapted. Of the 116 short films presented, 76 were fiction, 27 were documentaries and 13 were animated. And on this occasion it will be the director of photography, film restorer and researcher Juan Mariné who will receive the Goya of Honor.
